DO FUN STUFF

Today is kinda special. Today is August 30, and that means that it's 'DO FUN STUFF' day!!

Ryan over at Pacing The Panic Room, has been working his butt off to bring together folks all over the world to raise research funds and awareness of Smith-Magenis Syndrome, or SMS for short. He's put together an awesome compliation album of 'music for kids and their cool parents' available on iTunes today!! So listen up, these songs are groovy, sweet, silly, and a couple of them are just bound to keep you rockin and boppin through your day with a spring in your step and a little silly grin on your face. And you get to help out an awesome cause. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT (YES!!!) of the money raised goes directly to PRISMS to fund research and hopefully get support and answers to families of children with this difficult diagnosis.
If you've never been over to The Panic Room, you should head on over and get to know Ryan and LB (short for Littlest Buddy) his stepson who has been diagnosed with SMS. LB will melt your heart.

So Long I'm Six from The Panic Room Videos on Vimeo.

And if you want to get in on the fun, you can! Click here to get your very own widget to post on your site or blog. If you would like to just make a donation click on the donation button. Every last nickel is going directly to the folks at PRISMS.

crazy loco....

wow--I don't know what has gotten into me--I've done one batch of regular production, and now I'm getting all inspired and feeling very creative. I haven't made a doumbek drum in two years!

Of course I had to go make the mother of all drums! This baby is over 18 inches tall! I envision her (definitely a 'she') with a some beads on the leather strap, and a henna mandala on the head. (Glazing will present it's own dilemma, but I'm thinking something neutral...)
And nor have I made a lotus bowl in many, many months....

I was getting discouraged with both endeavors in the past and my time was consumed with orders...but somehow made room for some inspiration to peek thru after the mayhem of moving.

Feels good.

finally...

I threw some pots yesterday! weeeeeeeeee!

It has been a long road to functionability, but I'm gettin there.

I'm loving the new space. No, I'm apeshit over this house. Ape. Shit. We are in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood right next to the most amazing rock formations. (I will have to post some pix soon, but I didn't bring out the camera yesterday) Last night as the sun was setting and turning everything golden, I ran out the door and hauled my ass out onto the rocks to watch. Heaven.

Life is going on. Somehow, the worlds' longest move is coming to an end, and a new era is beginning...

Now I have to figure out how to shoot my pottery photos. My setup in the last place was great, but won't work here, so I'm trying new things. Here's the first round. Not the best, but I think I can work with it for a while. (add that to my list of things to do)
